About me.
Hi! I’m George, a keen explorer. I’m not totally sure where my urge to explore new places has come from, but it’s been within me as long as I remember. I love researching new places to go. My main challenge, however, is affording to go to all of these places. So, I have developed a passion for finding a bargain – a week’s ski trip in the French Alps for under £500pp, anyone?
So, why ‘Itchy Travels’? Well, have you ever had an itch you just can’t scratch? I am here to be that long piece of wood with filed edges that you use to reach that part of your back you can’t reach naturally without inducing a rotator cuff injury.
I also have that itch, and that is one of the main reasons why I have decided to start this blog/information site. You see, I have this itch under my skin to take an extended time out from my career and just travel around the world seeing as much as feasibly possible on a limited budget.
However, I simply will not have the £££s saved up to enable me to do this without some form of ongoing income that I will require to let me live out my dream. Therefore, Step 1 of my grand masterplan is to put in the foundations for a digital nomad sort of lifestyle. You will see ads on this site, and eventually affiliate links. This is how sites like this make money, so I will be relying on people such as your lovely self to enjoy my content and keep coming back for more!
I will share general blog posts on my trips, complete with a simplified itinerary for you to use as a rough guide to help you decide and plan you trips. I hate nothing more when I’m researching what to do and see in a place then having to read through mounds of information and trying to disseminate the relevant stuff. To that end, my posts won’t go into loads of unnecessary detail about things but a quick overview of what I thought. Importantly though, I won’t sugarcoat it. If I thought something was a bit shit, I’ll tell you I thought it was a bit shit.
Without wanting to going on too much, I do hope you enjoy reading about my experiences, using my itineraries as a guide, and find the information useful and enjoyable as you too, go on your own adventures.
